Y Homes

(Undertaken whilst working for Architos)

A work in progress, the ‘Y Homes’ are semi-detached (duplex) affordable homes with two and a half bedrooms. Located 20 mins from the Auckland CBD, the current suburban context predominantly displays 60’s era housing. Therefore the design for these medium-density units takes cues from these with their red brick base and landscaping details. A modern black skillion roof form ‘wraps’ around this base and its raked ceiling allows for a feeling of more space inside.
